Stage Two Issues and Options Report October 2008: Built Facilities

This report revisits the issue of need for waste management facilities and explores the type of facilities that might be required. Importantly, it begins to identify possible sites or areas where provision of new or improved waste management facilities might be suitable together with options for the spatial distribution of such facilities across the whole of Greater Manchester.
It also discusses possible approaches towards the provision of a set of development management policies that will help to guide decisions on future planning applications. The format and structure of the Stage Two Issues and Options Report is as follows:
- Background;
- Future Waste Management Requirements,
- Selection of Sites and Areas for Waste Management;
- Development Management Issues and Options; and
- Monitoring and Implementation.
There will be a 6 week consultation period for Stage 2 from Monday 6th October to Friday 14th November 2008.It is important that people get involved now to discuss issues such as whether they agree with the sites that have been put forward for potential new waste management facilities across Greater Manchester.
